I'll take King Aurelio of Asturias. Either this is the start of the Reconquista, or the beginning of a blazing end to House de Cantabria!

Mikey, let me know who you want. King of Bavaria would give you a good bit of autonomy, but there's also pagans all on the eastern border - it'd be a good choice for high action if your looking for that. If you want something quieter, there's some strong duchies in Francia and Lombardy which would give you protection from enemies but a strong base to work with. Tuscany (Lombardy), Allemain (Middle Francia), Flanders (West Francia), and Holland (West Francia) all are strong duchies with enough distance from me and Harb to give you room to expand. Probably best to decide which direction you want to expand in, Flanders/Holland would give you a lot of possibilities for expanding into British Isles, if that's your long-term goal, for example. Tuscany is in great shape for eventually uniting Italy. Allemain or Bavaria would be well situated to build a strong Germanic kingdom at some point.

Awesome! Spoke to VirtualRock on Steam, he's going to take King Tassilo of Bavaria, this spreads us out nicely I think. VR also confirmed he's got a mic and TeamSpeak, I'm going to make TeamSpeak a requirement for new players to join, otherwise it's just too difficult to coordinate.

Really looking forward to starting this up! Good luck guys!

Might see if I can pop in for this. I am very rusty on CK2 though.

Yeah, I am interested but my schedule these days is basically at an absurd point of randomness. I really like the idea of a "Mega-Campaign" though.

If you want to join on in a part-time manner, one of the rulers on the British Isles would probably play well. They'd be secluded enough that missed sessions wouldn't make a giant difference most likely.

Aphro/Pedal, can you guys confirm if you're playing, and if so, who you want? I've got another PDS board member interested in joining, want to give him a list of options. He's mentioned Northumbria in Great Britain, if Pedal is going to be up that way too I think it'll be well enough balanced, but I'm not really crazy about having a sole British Isles player in pre-1000, it's too easy to consolidate the whole island way early that way.

Some interesting choices on the mainland:
1) Duke of Lombardy (rules over big chunks of the Kingdom of Lombardy, particularly in southern Italy/Naples, but also has strong foothold in Tyrol region of northeast Italy). Solid choice, and has room to expand.
2) Duke of Franconia (situated between Mikey's hold in Holland and V/R's hold in Bavaria, has room to expand towards Saxony. Currently a vassal of France but has the strength to break off rather easily, esp with France in such poor shape)
3) King of Rus (an interesting choice, though may be tough. King of Rus has converted to Catholicism, and holds a pretty decent realm just south of modern-day St. Petersburg, but surrounded by Slavic pagans - still I think it's got potential, he's got a strong army and weak neighbors)

I don't want to bump anyone out so assume I am not going to make it and then the day I first do, I'll figure out where to go!

Stuyvesant from the Paradox boards has decided to join us, he has picked Duke of Lombardy.
